If you are having a true emergency please call our office at 607-432-0050.
The welfare of our patients is our utmost concern, and we have recently expanded our hours in order to provide urgent care in emergency situations. Our doctors see patients Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm until 9:00pm and Saturday mornings from 8:00am until noon. Since we are covering this large region, we ask that these times are to be for emergencies only. We do not schedule non-emergency treatments or vaccinations for these times. The veterinarians of Otsego and Delaware counties handle emergencies on a cooperative basis.
If you have an emergency after these additional hours, please call our regular number 607-432-0050, and our answering service will give you the number of the veterinary practice that is on call for that time. This schedule varies from month to month, and our answering service will be able to provide you with that information.
Our hospital is not staffed 24 hours a day. The rural nature of our area does not allow any of the area veterinary clinics to staff all night. If a patient requires an intensive care unit for all night care, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of the emergency room and ICU units of Cornell University and the Capital District Animal Emergency Clinic. We understand that these facilities are at least a one hour drive away, and may inconvenience you. But these facilities are the best available to provide a high level of care that your pet may require.
Our doctors work closely with the emergency room doctors and if required, most cases can be transferred back to us for continued care.
