We offer routine surgeries and dental cleanings Monday thru Friday. All surgical patients must be current on vaccinations and must have been examined by a Community Veterinary Center veterinarian within the last six months.
Food will need to be withheld the night before surgery after 8:00 pm. All treats or toys that could be ingested should also be taken from your pet at that time. Your pet can continue to have access to water until he or she is dropped off at Community Veterinary Center.
We may require routine pre-surgical blood work to screen for anesthetic risks. The blood work can be performed during an appointment or on the day of the surgery.
Your pet must be dropped off between 7:30am and 8:30am. The time to pick up your pet is determined on a case-by-case basis. Pets that come in for a neuter, a dental cleaning, or many other routine surgeries are able to go home the same day, usually between 4:00 and 5:30 pm. Pets that come in for spays or other, more complex surgeries usually can be picked up after 10:00 am the following day. Our technical staff will call you when your pet’s surgery is completed.
If a treatment plan was mailed to you, please read and sign where necessary. Please bring this form with you at the time you drop off your pet for surgery. A completed treatment plan will speed up the admissions process on the morning of your pet’s surgery.
