VET IN ONEONTA, NY

Pre-surgical Policy

We offer routine surgeries and dental cleanings Monday through Thursday. All surgical patients must be current on vaccinations and must have been examined by a Community Veterinary Center veterinarian within the last year.

PRE-SURGICAL POLICY

We require routine pre-surgical blood work to screen for anesthetic risks. Bloodwork typically will be performed prior to your pet’s surgery date.

Food will need to be withheld the night before surgery after 8:00 p.m. All treats that could be ingested should also be taken from your pet at that time. Your pet can continue to have access to water until he or she is dropped off at the Community Veterinary Center.

Your pet must be dropped off between 7:30 am and 8:30 am. The time to pick up your pet is determined on a case-by-case basis. More complex surgeries and some cases may need to stay overnight. Our technical staff will call you when your pet’s surgery is completed.

If a treatment plan was mailed to you, please read and sign where necessary. Please bring this form when you drop off your pet for surgery. A completed treatment plan will speed up the admissions process on the morning of your pet’s surgery.
